Hurricane is the main antagonist in Journey Beyond Sodor.


On his trip to the Mainland, Thomas discovers a strange place called the Steelworks, where he befriends two mysterious engines named Hurricane and Frankie. However, he realizes they aren't quite what they seem. Hurricane and Frankie soon put Thomas to work and prevent him from leaving the Steelworks then plans for revenge.Hurricane pushes Thomas out of the way. However, Hurricane ends up in the pile of slag and his front wheels melt. Quickly thinking, Merlin pushes him out of the molten slag.


Hurricane is based on a GER Class A55 "decapod", and experimental tank engine with ten driving wheels.


Hurricane is painted maroon, has a black running board, red lining and steam pipes. He has red and gold number and nameplates on either sides. His number is also painted in gold on his front buffer-beam.
